The Ultima chair, like its cousin the Finnjävel chair was designed for a restaurant, in this case a restaurant named Ultima. Unlike to the FJ chair the Ultima chair does not have armrests, but the design relies on the same asymmetrical, organic forms in order to help people enjoy long periods of being seated by encouraging moving around for different positions. The fluid design also creates an overall soft, ‘humanistic’ mood by avoiding the effect of symmetry and monotonous repetition, opting instead for asymmetry and subtle variation in form and color.
